With beans, without beans, white, red, easy to eat or hotter-n-hell, you’ll find every type of chili imaginable at Seville Quarter’s Great American Chili Cook-off.  On Saturday, January 27th in Phineas Phogg’s teams will compete for bragging rights for the best chili in Pensacola.  Each concoction will be judged on taste, smell and consistency and trophies will be awarded to the top three winners.  In addition there is a Showmanship trophy (decoration and entertainment) as well as the coveted People’s Choice trophy.  Many Mardi Gras Krewes compete so you just might get a sneak peek of the theme for this year’s float!

Each team must prepare their chili “from scratch” at Seville Quarter.  Cooking begins at 12pm and the judging begins at 4:00 p.m.  The public tasting is from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and the cost is $10.00 per person at the door with the proceeds going to the Five Flags Sertoma Club.  Mark your calendar for the Great American Chili Cook-off at Seville Quarter on Saturday the 27th – it’s a fun-filled, highly seasoned event that the whole family can enjoy.  For more information phone Buck Mitchell at 850-434-6211 or buck@rosies.com
