August Product of the Month – Frozille
Frosé’s are the perfect summertime beverage that is part wine slushie, part cocktail. The classic Frosé (or Frozen Rosé) is a little more than a bottle of Rosé wine, preferably from the south of France, a bit of sugar, fresh strawberries and lemon juice.
Frosé’s are quite popular right now and there are numerous variations on the recipe but the growing trend is to add a distilled spirit such as gin and vodka to the mix along with various fruits. This adds a bit more complexity, bumps up the alcohol level while still having Rosé as the primary ingredient.
For Seville’s Frosé we chose Farmers’ Botanical Gin, Crop Organic Cucumber Vodka, LaVieille Ferme Rosé, Prickly Pear Juice plus two secret ingredients. It’s been a big hit served in our large wine glasses with a sprig of mint. Seville’s Cody Armstrong has done a good job perfecting the recipe and selling almost 40 Frozille’s a night. Kudos to Kalyn Knight from Breakthru Beverage for coming up with the name Frozille!
You can experience Frozille at Wounded Knee Thursday through Saturday and at End O’The Alley from Sunday through Wednesday. Keep an eye out for the Slurpee machine with the lovely pink slush in it.
